Ayurveda Counselor Certificate Program

2024 Applications are Open

We are offering three separate start dates for 2024.  Choose between our winter, summer or fall semesters.  The total duration of the program is 16 weeks (approximately 4 months).

Winter: January 15th-May 3rd 2024

Summer: June 3rd-September 20th 2024

Fall: September 2nd-December 20th 2024

Tuition & Fees

2024 Tuition Fees for the Ayurveda Certificate program are $19,200 USD. Tuition & fees include all of the following services.

Atreya Medical College works with students to create a flexible payment plan.  

​

The general installment plan allows you to break up your payments prior to beginning your course. 

​

Deposit upon acceptance: $500 USD (non-refundable)

​

90 days prior to your start date: $5,000 USD 

​

45 days prior to your start date: $13,700 (remainder of your balance).  

​

Academic Coursework

As a student of the Ayurveda Level 1 Certificate program, you will learn through a progressive module approach.  The semester is broken into 3 sections which are a mix of classroom lectures with professors, hands on experience in the medicinal gardens and labs, site visits to India's Fortune 500 companies, research centers and pharmacies to understand Ayurveda application and clinical rotations at Arth Ayurveda clinic with patient exposure. Core Concepts
Week 1-4 | Module 1

The first module begins with basic Ayurvedic principles integrated with human science to give you the right tools to succeed in the field of Ayurveda. Topics of study include: 

​

  • Core concepts of Ayurvedic Philosophy Diet and lifestyle practices

  • Ayurvedic medicinal plants and forms of medicine

  • Yoga and wellness

​

What you will learn:

  • How to analyze yourself from an Ayurvedic perspective

  • Assessing the Prakruti of an individual

  • Reinforcement of health and well-being through Ayurvedic lifestyle suggestions

  • Identifying Ayurvedic medicinal plants

  • How to plant essential Ayurvedic medicines at home

  • Preparing healthy home remedies

Pre-Clinical
Week 5-10 | Module 2

This transitional module takes you into the intermediate stages of learning with pre-clinical aspects built in to the curriculum.  Learn about how to work with patients and the fundamentals of diagnosis (for eg. pulse). Topics of study include: 

 

  • Primary Ayurvedic care 

  • Diagnostic Principles to identify disease

  • Health & well-being in different demographics (eg. women, children, etc.)

What you will learn:​

  • External Panchakarma treatment demonstration

  • Preparation of Ayurvedic medicines

  • Primary Ayurvedic care

  • Pulse diagnosis

Practical Applications
Week 11-14 | Module 3

The last module showcases the breadth and depth of Ayurveda and it's application in the real world.  Students will understand the fundamental principles of Ayurvedic treatment from preventative to clinical. Topics of study include:

  • Identifying vital points on body

  • Understanding internal treatments

  • Marma therapies 

  • Rejuvenation therapies

  • Patient exposure through a clinical rotation

​

What you will learn: 

  • Principles of treatment to manage disease

  • Para-surgical and eye treatments in Ayurveda

  • Demonstrate Parasurgical, Kriyakalpas, Panchakarma treatments

  • Understanding patient-doctor-therapist interactions

Certificate of Completion: Ayurveda Counselor

Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College, Hospital, and Research Centre is a fully licensed Ayurvedic educational institution recognized and licensed by the Government of India. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive the following:

 

  • A Certificate of Completion as an Ayurvedic Counselor

  • Letters of Recommendation/Referrals by our medical and teaching staff

  • Opportunities for local internships in India

  • If you are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in your country, we are able to provide paperwork to help transfer credits or instructional hours toward your degree
